Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Whisk in the remaining ingredients and stir until well blended. Pour the batter into an sprayed 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. When the cake is done, the top will spring back when lightly tapped with fingertips. Cool and frost. Double the recipe to a make a 9 x13 cake. If making cupcakes, bake about 20 to 25 minutes, checking after 20 minutes. The recipe will make about 1 dozen cupcakes.
